Relaxed & Fun! are probably the best words to describe Claire & Charlie's big day. I really enjoyed shooting this wedding, and tried as I always do to capture this in thier pictures. Claire wasn't keen on the doing any preparation shots at all, but as I say to all my brides, let me shoot it for you and if you feel uncomfortable at any point just tell me to get out of the way!!
As I nearly always provide an allday coverage package, for most clients I prefer to start early with the preparation shots, and most brides after seeing the results decide they actually quite like them. It also helps with the album design later, to have it all captured start to finish. Amongst the more standard hair & makeup prep shots i like the 'covert' reportage style ones where the bride doesn't even know it's been taken and other stuff like the dress hanging up, shoes, perfume etc.. all nice album filler and scene setting shots.
I have posted a small selection of my favourites below, including a cheeky self portrait (see if you can spot it) and two interesting shots when the father of the bride let off the loudest confetti cannon ever!.. just look at the expressions on the faces off the people in these shots! I also really like the rather classic looking B&W shot of Claire & Charlie outside the Priesthouse with the Wedding Car, a beautiful dramitic shot with a great cloudscape. Congratulations to Claire & Charlie! - Steven
